Largest Penny Black strip changed hands |

An unused marginal strip of nine of the 1d Penny Black plate 9 1 AA-AI was sold in Grosvenor's auction April 16.
It is believed to be the largest unused multiple of this plate and the largest in private hands. Another known used block of fourteen is in the R.M. Phillips collection. This strip of nine was sold for £15,000. |
